Brass Hands

A designer that I find interesting is Kyle Miler, who founded the agency Brass Hands. He is an American brand designer, and his work is largely typographic. I am drawn to the strong use of colour and type that makes an impact through the use of limited colour palettes and a strong digital/technological feel.

Kyle works mainly in industry with a focus on defense, robotics, and artificial intelligence. A very distinct style can be seen across Kyle’s designs, and this is something that I find interesting: how one style can work across multiple uses, but each project is unique.

His recent branding project for Warp, an AI-driven HR and payroll system that automates admin, is very contemporary and uses a techy colour palette. Kyle Miller has made the brand mark feel clean and expressive, which ties nicely to the concept. I feel the branding feels sharp and fast-moving, like the world of AI technology.

His main style, like the work for the Nucleus Engineering Office, feels nostalgic but comes across as a modern concept that is grounded and human.
